1. About Canecto

Canecto is an online platform dedicated to books, reflection, and personal expression.
The service allows users to explore, share, and interact with content related to reading, poetry, and thoughtful conversation.

Canecto is owned and operated from Denmark and is subject to Danish law.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Canecto, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree with these terms, you should not use the platform.

3. Who Can Use Canecto

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use Canecto.

  • If you are under 18, you confirm that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

4. Accounts, Identity & Presence

Canecto allows users to:

  • Choose a screen name and avatar

  • Participate without using their real name

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your login information secure

  • All activity that occurs under your account

Canecto reserves the right to suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms.

5. User Content & Responsibility

What you may share

You may post content such as:

  • Reflections

  • Discussions

  • Memes or visual expressions

  • Book-related commentary

Your responsibility

You remain fully responsible for the content you post.

You must not:

  • Post illegal, abusive, or hateful content

  • Harass or threaten other users

  • Share copyrighted material without rights

  • Attempt to manipulate, exploit, or harm the platform or other users

6. Content Ownership & Rights

  • You retain ownership of the content you create and post on Canecto.

  • By posting content, you grant Canecto a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and technically process your content as part of operating the service.

This license exists only to make Canecto work as intended.

Canecto does not sell your content.

7. Moderation & Community Safety

Canecto aims to be a thoughtful and respectful space.

Canecto reserves the right to:

  • Remove content that violates these terms

  • Moderate discussions

  • Temporarily or permanently restrict accounts in serious cases

Moderation decisions are made to protect the community and the platform’s intent.

8. Intellectual Property

All platform elements not created by users — including:

  • Design

  • Branding

  • Layout

  • Icons

  • System logic

  • Text created by Canecto

are the intellectual property of Canecto and may not be reused without permission.

9. Availability & Changes

Canecto is provided “as is”.

We may:

  • Change features

  • Update functionality

  • Temporarily interrupt service for maintenance

  • Update these Terms & Conditions

Continued use of Canecto after changes means you accept the updated terms.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Danish law:

  • Canecto is not liable for indirect or consequential damages

  • Canecto is not responsible for user-generated content

  • Use of the platform is at your own risk

11. Privacy & Data Protection

These Terms & Conditions are governed by Danish law.

Any disputes shall be settled by the courts of Denmark, unless mandatory consumer protection rules state otherwise.
